Assembly

Measuring and improving methods on assembly stages to reduce overall build times and give accurate and detailed work descriptions for work being carried out.

Logistics

Implementing schemes for delivery from stores to point of use at line side, to give manning figures relative to build volumes and build types. These projects have resulted in substantial reductions in delivery times and manning levels of logistics personnel and given the management a simple but effective tool for planning purposes.

Paint shop

Re-measurement of standard times throughout all paint shop operations to enable new manning figures to be calculated and to give accurate information for areas and layouts required for brand new automotive finishing plant.

Construction-Equipment Manufacturing

We have worked with manufacturers of construction and earth-moving equipment, such as backhoe loaders etc., in several plants throughout the UK. These undertakings range from specific projects to supplying contract engineers to assess and implement standard minute values, line balances and methods improvements.
 

Aero Jet-Engine Manufacturing

Both supplying a managed team and undertaking other projects involving  a full work and method study review of complete plants and of cells within component and assembly plants. We have also provided training services to internal personnel in our work and method study systems.
 

Caravan Manufacture

We have supplied a fully managed team of engineers to measure, improve and re-balance the complete operation for static caravan production.

We have also trained internal personnel, and assisted in the setting up of a new work-study department to ease the handover and to facilitate ongoing manufacturing improvements.
 

Formula One Race Car Engineering

A project based around the highly specialised carbon fibre assembly of formula one components. Through times and new layouts were given and repair sections of the facility were also analysed to show where improvements could be made thereby reduce turnaround times between races.
 

uPVC Window Manufacture

Door and window manufacturing factories, serving both the home-improvement market and contract window production, have used our work-study services. These include the provision of accurate time values for costing, planning and incentive purposes. Standard times were used to create a data bank of synthetic time values and we then used these to generate a Microsoft Excel based programme to permit time and cost values to be easily calculated from size and style requirements for individual window and door types.
 

Foundry Work

This has involved reviewing casting lines, including the production of turbo charger housings. Investigation of all stages were undertaken to assess the efficiency of the line, operators and machinery. After a short study period, the results were analysed and a new line balance suggested. As a result, manning was reduced significantly and the output increased.
 

Food Manufacture

Working with one of the leading names in European food and consumable goods manufacture, we supplied training and on-site assistance to measure operators and processes to reduce manning and production times using new line balances and work instructions.
 

Bathroom & Kitchen Furniture Manufacturing

We have supplying training, on-site guidance and contract work measurement engineers to attain new time values for costing and efficiency purposes. Time values were used to create a full set of synthetic values, which were used to form a simple set of programmes using the Excel platform. These programmes were then used to generate time standards for easy costing and planning purposes for both existing and proposed new products.
 

Warehousing

We have undertaken many projects to reduce through times and manning in warehousing environments, including part relocation and synthetic manning programmes, in order to reduce costs and evaluate manning requirements for variable delivery and goods-inwards requirements.
